September 2026 · The first edition
From an idea on a phone to two apps in people's pockets.
September has made something feel very real: Chaos to Control is no longer only an idea we are talking about. It is a growing community project with a website, two apps and more people starting to ask how they can be part of it.
Two apps, two different first steps
It’s Okay Not To Be Okay gives people a supportive place to check in, share and track their progress. Matey offers a Cornish-friendly AI conversation when talking to someone can feel like too much.
Testing the right way
A small group of testers is using the apps properly and giving direct feedback on what is useful, what is unclear and what needs fixing before we grow further.
Building the right bridges
Conversations have started with NHS South West about signposting into existing services, alongside experienced mental-health professionals helping us think carefully about future ideas and tools.
The biggest practical change this month is that the apps are now leading the way. They are not designed to replace clinical or crisis support. They are designed to make the first conversation feel more possible—and then help someone find their next step.
Alongside that, some properly important conversations are starting. We are speaking with potential partners and established organisations about how we can support each other moving forward. Nothing gets announced as a partnership until it is real, but the doors opening this month have been a huge vote of confidence in the direction of travel.
